A WIFI water detector was installed in the kitchen under the sink to detect and immediately report to the owner any leaks from the dishwasher, sink or garbage disposal. Being on the corner means the extra-large bedroom has both north- and west-facing window exposures for loads of light and the second private balcony directly off the bedroom for sips of morning coffee in the fresh air and panoramic views of Columbia Heights. You can even glimpse the National Cathedral off in the distance. Just off the bedroom is an open foyer/hallway with the spacious bathroom and the hall closet containing the full-sized side-by-side washer and dryer and shelving for storage. There are SO many upgrades in this unit! -HVAC system (both the air handler and the condenser unit on the roof) was replaced in the summer of 2021. Air handler includes an EZ-Trap that will the turn off the system if the condensate pipe backs up. -All light switches and electrical receptacles in the unit were replaced in Summer 2021 (two receptacles are smart switches and five receptacles with USB-A/C ports. -Light fixtures in the unit were replaced in 2018 and are integrated LED. -Both balcony doors and transom windows were replaced in 2019 with fiberglass doors with insulated glass designed to block noise, resist weather damage, and provide energy savings. -All windows in the unit were replaced in 2018 with double-hung, insulated windows also designed to be energy efficient, block outside noise and hold up the wear and tear. -50-gallon water heater was installed in 2017 with a connection to the buildingâs main condensate drainage line to protect from water leaks and also a WIFI water detector that sends wireless alerts to the ownerâs smartphone if a leak is detected. Wardman Court is a walker's paradise located equal distance from the historic U Street Corridor and Columbia Heights with easy access to the 14th Street Corridor and Dupont Circle.
