ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Cumberland Gap, was on a cut-off of the Oregon Trail and small coal mining town (circa 1910) supplying the OSL railroad through the 1930s. It is located about 15 miles south of Kemmerer WY. Cumberland Gap Hearth Stone Inc. is the selling owner of a rock quarry that includes about 7,OOO acres of (40 private), Wyoming State and BLM leased lands subject to recorded mineral claims. CGHS Inc. is a family business that has been in operation for 38 years. The quarry runs year round, to supply architects, residential, commercial builders and road building contractors with high quality rock materials. A highly sought after, beautiful, uncommon sandstone is surface mined from sandstone seams that stretch about 4.5 miles across the high desert ridgelines. CGHS is a wholesaler of other products that include: flag stone, large square boulders, chop stone, cap stone, stair treads and rip rap for road and levee construction. The cut products are loaded on pallets and the sandstone is loaded as large slabs. Each trailer load is about 50,000 pounds or 25 tons. Historically, annual production has been about 5,000 tons per year, with a gross sales value of about $1,100,000. The inventory for future production is limited only by the amount of capital invested in production and availability of labor. The mined acres are reclaimed to industry standards as the quarry operations move. More financial and market demand information, mining leases/permits and quarry reserve estimates are available from the owner. The rock processing building & shipping yard are on leased land (est. 3 acres), the lease is negotiable. The mining heavy equipment is available for purchase at market prices, list prepared by owner.
